How do I find the Right Realtor?|
How do I find the right realtor?
We often shock people with our ability to "exceed their expectations" and with the level of service that we provide. They often comment that they have had bad experiences in the past with realtors who did not communicate or return phone calls. In addition what they were promised was not what was provided. How can you prevent this from happening to you? Here are some tips and ways that you can prevent this.
1) Check references!
Ask your realtor for references from recent buyers and sellers Ask your references about how much their realtor was available and responded to their needs! Ask about service!
2) Get it in writing!
If you are promised something from a realtor, then they should be able to provide you with the promise in writing. If they do not want to put it in writing, find another realtor!
3) Avoid long term commitments!
If you are listing with a realtor, then 3-4 months is the maximum time that you should take a listing or buying commitment for. Any longer than that and you are stuck for a long time with the same person!
4) Check when they are available!
Shawn is always available via his cell phones. When he is not available, Jennifer is! Think about what your needs are and make sure your realtor will fit your needs.
5) Make sure your realtor provides state disclosures about agency!
All Ohio realtors are required by law to disclose who they represent in a transaction. This is required before showing you a home or listing your home. If your realtor is not obeying the required law when they work with you, do you really want them writing your contract?
6) Get it up front!
Make sure you and your realtor have all expectations laid out up front! That way, you avoid miscommunication later.
